Thanks for stopping by. I know I havn’t been posting in a while. I over booked my life with some fun and amazing stuff (RPM, SXSW, IMSL, a trip to Death Valley) and made time to shoot but not edit anything.
I’m hoping to kick my blog posting back into gear with this Green Day cover, Dominated Love Slave. I learned it when I was in junior high and now realize its kind of a jab at the BDSM community. In a way, it titillates the audience by bringing up themes of spanking, punishment and pain. Then, though hyperbole and a crazy drunk-country-western aesthetic, makes fun of BDSM.

Beautiful! Even though, yes, it is definitely poking fun at BDSM (I always raise an eyebrow when people mention it as a “pro-BDSM song”). You made it sound considerably less redneck and much more elegant, though
Can we put in requests? You should totally do Blitzkid’s “She Dominates”. It’s absolutely serious and positive about BDSM, and while I adore the punk rock, I’d love to hear a slowed-down, acoustic version of it!

This was my first contact with this song, and as you did it, it was Beautiful! (with capital B). Unfortunately I then listened to Green Days version and it all fell apart. They take such a big part of my life and make it a laughing matter… Have to listen to yours again to get that ugly feeling of me.
