A while back, I reluctantly agreed to be my sister’s maid of honor in August of 2009. I’m already experiencing some of the issues around gender performance and this new role. I’m sure there will be more on this topic soon!

I second on the prickly line. I laughed so hard at the inflection that Kinsey glared.
I’m sorry that you’re being forced into something that makes you uncomfortable, especially by people I would assume that you’re somewhat close to.
However, I think that viewing it as a gender performance is a incredibly healthy way of looking at it. It certainly isn’t you, but as a role, it seems like it may at least be interesting. Or maybe not.
Either way, I enjoyed the video.
